In 2024 in collaboration with the Principals of MAG Capital Partners, Mr. Word formed Sword Industrial Partners with focus on multi-tenant, infill industrial real estate in the Western United States. Prior to forming Sword Industrial Partners, he was a Principal at Rising Realty Partners in Los Angeles, California where he led the formation and implementation of the industrial platform. Mr. Word oversaw all industrial acquisition activities, including sourcing, strategy and market expansion for the multi-tenant light industrial (MTLI) and IOS strategies.
He has acquired ~$325 million of MTLI assets over the last three and a half years. Prior to joining Rising, Mr. Word held Principal positions with Landmark Realty Partners, Dvele, Waypoint and Steelwave (formerly Legacy Partners). Mr. Word led acquisition and development activities in these roles, completing over $1.7B of value-add industrial and office acquisitions. He began his professional career with The Seeley Company, one of the oldest and most established industrial brokerage firms in Los Angeles, where he was a Partner. Scott resides in Newport Beach, CA.
